Submissions for “El Umutu” Scholarship Begins on May 1st
The Ministry of Education and Science has announced that applications for the competition to receive the Kyrgyz Republic President’s “El Umutu” International Scholarship will be accepted online from May 1st to May 30th, 2024.
The aim of awarding the “El Umutu” scholarship is to support the most talented youth of the Kyrgyz Republic in pursuing master’s and PhD programs in top-100 global universities according to the QS World University Rankings and Times Higher Education.
Each year, 50 “El Umutu” scholarships are awarded, including 20 scholarships for technical and engineering master’s programs, 10 for economic master’s programs, 10 for social sciences and humanities master’s programs, and 10 for PhD programs.
Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic under the age of 40 are eligible to apply for master’s programs, while those applying for PhD programs must be under the age of 45.
Applicants must submit the following documents to participate in the competition:
- Completed application form approved by the authorized body.
- Passport/identification document.
- Bachelor’s/specialist/master’s diploma with transcripts.
- Copies of documents confirming unconditional admission to academic studies, including program, specialty, duration of study, with notarized translations into the official language.
- Official academic performance document issued by the foreign university, including information on the specialty, course (year of study), grading system used by the institution, and average grade, with notarized translations into the official language.
- Information on active and successful participation in research activities, confirmed by publications, author’s certificates, conference abstracts, diplomas, etc.
- Information on any other public presentations within the two years prior to the international scholarship award, including participation in international, national, or departmental conferences, seminars, round tables, etc.
