The Faculty of Natural Science, Tourism, and Agricultural Technologies at Osh State University carries a rich history that mirrors the evolving educational landscape and the changing needs of society. It has continuously adapted to the demands of a dynamic world, earning its place as a respected institution within the university.

Early Foundations:

In the academic year 1952-1953, the faculty saw the appointment of M. Satybaldiev as its dean, marking the beginning of its educational journey. The faculty's initial focus was on biology, reflecting the vital role of this discipline in understanding the natural world. Over time, it underwent several transformations to accommodate the expanding horizons of knowledge and the diverse interests of students.

A Shifting Identity:

In 1957, the Faculty of Biology expanded its scope and was renamed the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography. This change acknowledged the importance of geography as a key component of the natural sciences. Under the leadership of the Candidate of Biological Sciences and Associate Professor K.V. Piskarev, the faculty continued to flourish, providing students with a broader and more comprehensive education in the natural sciences.

However, change was a constant companion for the faculty. In 1966-1973, it underwent yet another transformation, reverting to its earlier name as the Faculty of Biology, with Candidate of Biological Sciences and Associate Professor B. Alyshbaev at the head. This change signified the faculty's ability to adapt to the shifting tides of academia and to cater to the evolving needs of its students.

The Faculty's Mission and Goals:

Today, the Faculty of Natural Science, Tourism, and Agricultural Technologies stands as a testament to its enduring commitment to providing a top-tier education. Its mission is to prepare highly qualified and competent specialists in a wide range of fields. The faculty offers programs in natural sciences, encompassing chemistry, biology, and geography, alongside specialties in tourism, geodesy, agriculture (agronomy and veterinary medicine). This diversity of disciplines reflects the faculty's dedication to preparing students for a range of professional paths.

The faculty's aim is to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for success in modern pedagogical, tourism, technical, and agricultural industries. In an era characterized by globalization and regionalization, the faculty places a strong emphasis on nurturing competence and adaptability. The dynamic nature of the global landscape necessitates professionals who can thrive in ever-changing conditions.

In summary, the Faculty of Natural Science, Tourism, and Agricultural Technologies has evolved over the years, reflecting the ever-changing world and the diverse interests of its students. Its rich history is marked by flexibility, adaptation, and a commitment to excellence in education. Today, it remains dedicated to preparing students for success in a wide range of fields, from the natural sciences to tourism and agriculture. As it continues to adapt to the challenges of a dynamic world, the faculty is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of its students and contributing to the growth and development of its region.
