Under the banner “OshSU is on the path of green development” the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Tourism, and Agricultural Technologies orchestrated a dynamic event to commemorate university’s 85th anniversary. The occasion saw the enthusiastic participation of students from various faculties, reflecting a collective commitment to environmental stewardship and innovation.

The centerpiece of the celebration was the unveiling of a thought-provoking video presentation titled “Green Economy in Kyrgyzstan”, conceived and executed by the students themselves. This visual narrative delved into the intricacies of sustainable practices within the Kyrgyzstani context, showcasing the country’s potential for eco-friendly initiatives. Leveraging the power of social media, these videos were disseminated widely, amplifying the message of environmental consciousness to a broader audience.

A highlight of the event was the spirited debate competition centered on the theme “Solutions to Environmental Problems in Kyrgyzstan”. Students exhibited a remarkable blend of ingenuity and scholarly acumen as they delved into the complexities of environmental challenges facing their nation. Their compelling arguments underscored a deep-seated understanding of ecological principles and a fervent desire to effect positive change. Recognizing their exemplary efforts, participants were bestowed with diplomas, prizes from the organizers, and gifts from the Aarhus Center.

The event commemorating the 85th anniversary of the university was organized by the Department of Zoology, Ecology, and Bioengineering of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Tourism, and Agricultural Technologies at Osh State University, in collaboration with the Aarhus Center.

The aim of the event was to strengthen students’ knowledge in the field of green economics, foster environmental awareness among youth, promote sustainable development within the educational institution, and move towards becoming a green university.
