The IV International Student Olympiad in Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Neonatology Concludes at Osh State University

The IV International Student Olympiad in Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Neonatology recently concluded at the International Medical Faculty of Osh State University. The opening ceremony saw the participation and welcoming address of OshSU Rector Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov, who provided insights into the university’s medical education landscape and the activities of its affiliated clinic.

Representing 11 teams from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, the Olympiad unfolded across three stages. The initial stage featured team introductions through “Safe Childbirth” video business cards, alongside completion of the assignment “We Are Against Breast Cancer.” The subsequent phase saw students tackling test questions and situational challenges spanning obstetrics, gynaecology, and neonatology. In the practical segment, participants showcased their hands-on proficiency using mannequins, simulators, and the virtual patient platform DIMEDUS.

Following the jury's deliberations, first place was secured by the team “Doctor OG” from OshSU’s Medical Faculty. The second position was claimed by “Emadus” from Andijan State Medical Institute and “Maternity Masters” from OshSU's International Medical Faculty. Meanwhile, the third spot was shared among “Boss-Molokosos” from KRSU, “Apostles” from Kyrgyz State Medical Academy, and “Umay” from OshSU’s International Medical Faculty. The winners were awarded with trophies, diplomas, letters of gratitude, and valuable prizes.

The organization of this international Olympiad stemmed from the initiative of the Department of Clinical Disciplines of OshSU International Medical Faculty.
