Osh State University Rector's Greetings on International Women's Day
From the bottom of my heart, I congratulate you on International Women's Day! Thanks to you, the world maintains its integrity and zest for life. Women anticipate joy, pray for equality, seek happiness, and give love. May these qualities never fade in you.
Since ancient times, women have played a significant role in the history of the Kyrgyz people. Examples include Manas's wife, Kanykey, our heroic women Zhanyl Myrza, Kyz Saykal, Alai Queen Kurmanjan Datka, woman leader Urkuya Salieva, art talents Bubusara Beyshenalieva, Sabira Kumushalieva, Tattybubu Tursunbaeva, Jamal Seydakmatova, public and state figure Kuliypa Konduchalova, and others.
Today, Kyrgyz women excel in science, industry, sports, culture and arts, politics, and business, actively participating in international events. We are pleased that among these remarkable women, there are professors and students of our university.
Currently, the total number of faculty and staff at Osh State University is 3,822 people, of whom 60 percent are women. This also demonstrates the active participation of women. Most deans of faculties, and heads of colleges, schools and departments are women, and they perform their work at a high level.
The core of the university is the field of science. In our educational institution, there are 31 female doctors of science, which is almost half, and 301 female candidates of science, which is more than half of the total number of candidates.
We are proud that among the employees working at Osh State University, there are corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, honored figures of science, culture, and sports of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Alongside faculty members, great achievements in education, science, sports, and culture are also made by female students. The women's professional volleyball club “Universitet OshMU” managed to become the champion of the Kyrgyz High League.
