A seminar titled “Cybersecurity in Everyday and Professional Life” was held at the university with the participation of students from the Institute of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, and Information Technology and the Institute of History and Law.

The event aimed to raise awareness of cyber threats, improve digital literacy, and develop practical skills for protecting personal data. Students were divided into five groups and completed hands-on tasks focused on identifying fraudulent schemes and potential cyber risks.

The guest lecturer was Bektur Azimov, Director of the Institute of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, and Information Technology, who highlighted the growing importance of cybersecurity in both daily life and professional activities. The program included lectures on cybersecurity fundamentals, personal data protection, phishing, online scams, and malware, as well as an overview of the most common cyber threats in Kyrgyzstan.

During the practical session, students analyzed case studies under the theme “Recognize the Threat,” examining fake bank messages, fraudulent prize notifications, verification code requests, and fake websites. Each group developed an action plan for responding to such threats.

The seminar concluded with an interactive Kahoot quiz and a key message emphasizing that cybersecurity starts with informed and responsible human behavior. The event was organized by Professors Amanai Akmatova and Dzhamilya Asanbekova from the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure.
