October 16, Osh – Today, Osh State University is hosting the international symposium titled “Islamic Scholars from Maverannahr to Anatolia: II International Karakhanid Period.”
The event has brought together prominent religious leaders, scholars, and researchers from Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Wales, Bangladesh, Austria, and the United States, both online and offline.
As part of the symposium, a cooperation agreement was signed between the public organization “History of Hadiths” (Turkey) and Osh State University. Under this agreement, the parties will work together to develop academic mobility programs for faculty members, promote joint scientific research, and strengthen collaboration in the scientific and educational fields.
“During the 9th–13th centuries, in the Karakhanid era, Islamic scholars from Central Asia and Kyrgyzstan made significant contributions to the development of global ethics and science. Today’s event is dedicated to their legacy. Twenty-six professors and scholars from abroad are taking part in the symposium, and 91 research presentations will be delivered,” said Niyazaly Aripov, Dean of the Faculty of Theology at Osh State University.
The symposium is organized by the Faculty of Theology of Osh State University, Yildirim Beyazit University (Turkey), and the Organization for the History of Hadith, with the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA).
