Lecturers of Osh State University – Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Aida Keldibekova, Senior Lecturer Dzhyldyz Toichueva, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Zhainagul Abdirasulova and Lecturer Meerimgul Busurmanakul kyzy, under the guidance of the Dean of the International Medical Faculty, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor R. K. Kalmatov, are actively participating in the international project RITA: “Polish experience in breast cancer prevention among youth in Kyrgyzstan”.
This is supported by the Polish-American Freedom Foundation under the RITA (Region in Transition) program.Project key partner WSG University (Wyższa SzkołaGospodarki) in Bydgoszcz, the implementer is the society AZS WSG.
Objectives of the project: adapt and implement the Polish methodology for breast cancer prevention; train students in self-examination techniques; strengthen the public health system in the Osh region of Kyrgyz Republic. Participation in this project will not only enhance the professional skills of OshSU lecturers but also contribute to improving public health awareness and cancer prevention efforts in the region. The implementation of this project is planned in four stages, the first of which is the training of Osh State University teachers in the city of Bydgoszcz on September 14–19, 2025.
As part of this event, on August 19, 2025, representatives of Osh State University, together with project coordinators Alexander Skaly and Tatyana Skaly, took part in a remote meeting, where they discussed in detail the goals and objectives, stages of implementation, organizational issues and planned work for carrying out project activities until April 2026.
During the online meeting, key factors in cancer prevention, the importance of knowledge in preserving women’s health, and the role of regular self-examination were highlighted. In addition, participants were introduced to methods of public awareness and prevention activities based on international experience.
