Changes have been made to the procedure for licensing educational activities
The Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 552 dated October 7, 2022 “On Amendments to the Decree of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic “On Approval of the Interim Regulation on the Procedure for Licensing Educational Activities in the Kyrgyz Republic” dated July 23, 2018 No. 334” came into force
According to the Decree, a new statement of the “Temporary regulation on the procedure for licensing educational activities in the Kyrgyz Republic” was approved.
Some changes in the order of licensing:
- When applying for a license, the applicant must have a written consent to conclude an employment contract for teaching staff. This change will exempt the applicant from the need to hire or part-time employees before obtaining a license.
- The license will indicate the actual address of the educational activity. In the event of a change in the actual address, the educational organization is obliged to send a notification to the ministry.
- The column on the maximum number of students has been removed from the license form. This will allow the educational organization to recruit depending on the needs of the labor market.
- The decision to reissue the license will be made by order of the ministry. This will speed up the license renewal process.
- The requirement that the applicant has, on the basis of the right of ownership, operational management, lease or on the basis of a contract for gratuitous use for a period of at least 2 years, equipped buildings, premises, territories for the implementation of educational activities. Useful area for educational activities per student is 3 square meters;
- The requirement to have a clinical base for the implementation of medical and pharmaceutical education programs. Non-state educational organizations must have a clinical base on the right of ownership or operational management, an appropriate license to carry out medical activities.
- Decreased staffing percentage.
