On October 1, a crime prevention awareness meeting was held for residents of OshSU student dormitories No. 4A and No. 4B.
The meeting was attended by nearly 500 students, officers from the Ak-Buura City Police Department of the Osh City Internal Affairs Directorate and the Eastern Division of the Patrol Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Osh, dormitory supervisors, representatives of the OshSU Security Service, and the Chairperson of the Women’s Council.
Law enforcement officers and representatives of the OshSU Security Service informed students about their rights and responsibilities, liability for violations of the law, and possible legal consequences.
Students were advised to contact the relevant authorities if they face pressure, threats, extortion, or attempts to force them to provide or receive any service. It was also explained that such actions may result in legal liability. In addition, the importance of reporting violations to the relevant authorities rather than remaining indifferent was emphasized.
Such preventive meetings are regularly held across all OshSU campuses. Measures are also being taken to strengthen patrols to ensure safety in the student dormitories.
