Remi Duflot, Ambassador of the European Union to Kyrgyzstan, paid his third working visit to Osh State University on August 26.
During the meeting, OshSU Rector Kudayberdi Kozhobekov was presented with a certificate of appreciation for his contribution to cooperation with the European Union and its further development.
The meeting focused on joint projects in education and science, opportunities being created for students and academic staff, and ways to expand cooperation between OshSU and higher education institutions in European countries. Particular attention was paid to opportunities provided through the Erasmus+ programme. Through the programme, OshSU students and academic staff can study abroad, participate in academic mobility programmes and gain international experience.
The sides also discussed plans to hold a European Film Festival in Osh. The festival, which is being organized as a joint project of the European Union and OshSU, is scheduled to take place in late October. The three-day event will feature five films for the public.
The parties further discussed plans to expand partnerships between OshSU and European higher education institutions, implement new projects, and create additional opportunities for students and academic staff.
Cooperation between OshSU and the European Union contributes to improving the quality of education, strengthening international ties, and enabling students and academic staff to actively participate in the international education community.
