Osh State University held a presentation of the “Silver University” project, implemented in cooperation with Ch. Valikhanov Kokshetau University in Kazakhstan. The online meeting was attended by the rectors of both universities, Kudayberdi Kozhobekov and Marat Syrlybaev, as well as vice-rectors.

During the meeting, information was provided about the project’s goals, activities, and achievements. “Silver University” offers additional education for senior citizens in areas such as digital literacy, language learning, psychology, health and wellness, business, artificial intelligence, first aid, arts, and tourism.

Kokshetau University noted that the project aims to expand its activities across Central Asian countries and strengthen regional and international cooperation. Accordingly, a hub of inter-Central Asian universities for the older generation is planned in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan. Within the framework of AIUTA (Association Internationale des Universités du Troisième Âge), the hub will facilitate regional cooperation, support lifelong learning for seniors, promote experience exchange, and organize social programs.

In Kazakhstan, “Silver University” programs have been operating since 2022, and over 1,500 people have participated in 32 higher education institutions.

OSU Rector Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov emphasized that socially meaningful projects like “Silver University” are highly relevant to society, and the university will always support such initiatives.

At the end of the meeting, the parties planned to continue cooperation to increase the activity of senior citizens and promote a culture of lifelong learning.
