Abdyzhapar Akkulov, Director of the Advisory Center for Mountain Ecosystem Conservation and Green Innovation, and Elmurat Obdunov, Associate Professor at the Institute of Natural Sciences, Physical Education, Tourism, and Agricultural Technologies, paid a working visit to Kazan Agricultural University from December 20 to 24.
They gave presentations to students on climate change, rising temperatures, and drought, which have recently become global problems in Kyrgyzstan. They also shared the results of their research on the restoration of areas degraded by landslides, the preservation of mountain ecosystems in the context of climate change, as well as forest reclamation and bioremediation.
During the visit, the delegation met with scientists from Kazan State Agrarian University. The parties discussed the possibility of conducting joint scientific research and signing a memorandum on the implementation of student exchange programs. They also agreed to hold practical events to expand the introduction of forests in Kyrgyzstan by collecting seeds and seedlings of trees and shrubs.
