The patient was 50-year-old Burulkan Kurbanalieva, who had been battling liver disease for eight years. The liver donor was her 25-year-old son. At present, both the patient and the donor are under medical supervision, and their condition is stable.

The operation was carried out free of charge. It was performed by the university’s experienced surgeon Beksultan Seitbek uulu together with specialists invited from Russia. The surgery was conducted following the instruction of President Sadyr Japarov to develop the organ transplantation sector in Kyrgyzstan and with the support of the Minister of Health.

After the successful operation, on December 19, Minister of Health Kanybek Dosmambetov visited the patient. The Minister emphasized that performing such complex surgeries in the southern region is of great importance for Kyrgyz medicine and noted that the country’s medical capacity will continue to expand. During the visit, he also toured the Medical Clinic, the educational and laboratory buildings of the International Medical Faculty and the Medical Faculty located on the university’s Ak-Buura campus, and met with faculty members and students.

The Medical Clinic is fully equipped with all the necessary conditions for performing liver transplant operations. The operating room is fitted with modern equipment, including patient monitoring systems, artificial lung ventilation devices, and an intensive care unit that ensures comprehensive postoperative care.

To date, 110 surgical operations have been performed in the clinic’s surgical department, including kidney transplants, cardiac stent placements, and other procedures. Of these, 20 operations involved cardiac vascular suturing. A total of 82 patients underwent surgeries using endovascular methods. Approximately 6,000 patients have received outpatient medical care.
