The Center for Advanced Training at Osh State University has introduced a new “First Aid” (“Home Nurse”) training course designed for the general public.
The program aims to equip participants with essential first aid knowledge and practical skills needed both in daily life and during emergencies.
The course is open to individuals without a medical background who wish to learn how to care for sick or elderly family members and provide basic home-based support. The training includes 1.5 months of theoretical and practical instruction, along with 15 days of clinical practice. Practical sessions are held at the university clinic, offering participants real-life experience in a medical setting.
The curriculum covers a wide range of essential skills, including:
Measuring body temperature and recognizing dangerous symptoms
Measuring blood pressure and providing emergency assistance
Basics of classical massage
Prevention and treatment of bedsores
Hygiene procedures and changing bedding and clothing for patients
Administering intramuscular, intravenous, and subcutaneous injections
Measuring pulse
Using cups, heating pads, and mustard plasters
Administering enemas
Safe and correct use of medications
Classes take place at the Medical College of Osh State University three times a week, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The monthly course fee is 3,000 soms. Upon completion, participants will receive an official certificate from Osh State University.
