Key Areas of Cooperation within CIS and SCO Network Universities Discussed in Bishkek

On November 6, Iskhak Razzakov Kyrgyz State Technical University hosted a working meeting of higher education institutions participating in the CIS Network University and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization University (SCOU).

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlan Omurov; First Secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Kyrgyzstan Alexander Poyda; and Coordinator of the SCO University Coordinating Council, Director of the Center for International Projects and Intersectoral Partnership of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, Larisa Efremova. Rector of Osh State University and National Coordinator of the Network University in Kyrgyzstan, Kudaiberdi Kojobekov, joined the session online.

During the meeting, participants discussed key areas for expanding international academic cooperation within the CIS and SCO network universities. The agenda included the review of the minutes of the CIS Network University Coordinating Council held on June 25, approval of the work plan for the 2025–2026 academic year, and development of the official website of the Network University. Issues related to the implementation of joint educational programs, academic mobility, and collaboration in scientific research were also addressed.

The event brought together representatives of universities from CIS and SCO member states. It was organized with the support of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Kyrgyzstan.

The CIS Network University currently includes 47 leading universities from seven countries and offers joint educational programs in 37 fields of study. Its activities aim to strengthen integration among participating states, promote academic exchange, and support research initiatives contributing to the socioeconomic development of the region.
