Every year on 29 September, World Heart Day is celebrated around the world.
On 13 October, a free medical examination is being held in the main building of Osh State University to mark Heart Day. During the event, university lecturers, staff and students have their blood pressure measured. Recommendations and instructions are given based on the results of the examination. The event is organised by doctors from the Medical Clinic of Osh State University, teachers from the Centre for Postgraduate Continuing Medical Education and resident doctors. According to Abdullabek Yusupov, a cardiologist and endovascular surgeon at the Medical Clinic of Osh State University, the event will last three days and will be held in other university buildings.
Heart Day has been held since 1999 on the initiative of the World Heart Federation and the World Health Organisation.
