A Scientific Research Oncology Center to Open at Osh State University

A new scientific center dedicated to the study of oncological diseases will be established at Osh State University (OshSU). This was announced during a meeting with Professor Fentoni Marcello from Kent State University (Ohio, USA), Aiya Khudaybergenova, Director of Strategic Development for Central Asia at Kent State University, and Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov, Rector of Osh State University.

The meeting took place today, October 1, at OshSU. According to Professor Marcello, Kent State University has more than 33,000 students and operates across eight campuses. The university provides education in fields such as computer science, medicine, arts, and the humanities. Rector Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov shared information about OshSU’s international partnerships, achievements, and cooperation initiatives.

The parties discussed the development of joint projects in education, medicine, scientific research, student and faculty exchange programs, as well as the use of innovative teaching methods. Special attention was given to cancer biology and molecular genetics, which were highlighted as key areas of scientific collaboration. Both sides agreed to carry out joint research in these fields and strengthen scientific potential.

Rector Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov emphasized that cooperation with Kent State University is a great opportunity for Osh State University, noting that it will significantly contribute to creating modern learning conditions for students and faculty, as well as advancing expertise in the field of medicine. Professor Fentoni Marcello also underlined that collaboration in science and education will be mutually beneficial in the future, adding that today’s meeting is only the first step.

The guests were also introduced to OshSU’s achievements in education, research, medicine, and digital transformation.
