Osh State University has launched the international poetry festival "Green World," dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the prominent Kyrgyz poet Zholon Mamytov. The event brings together young Turkic-speaking poets from across the region.

The opening ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including the State Secretary of Kyrgyzstan Marat Imankulov, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Youth Policy Marat Tagaev, Presidential Plenipotentiary in the Osh Region Elchibek Dzhantaev, Osh Mayor Zhenishbek Toktorbaev, and leading figures from the literary world such as Musa Akıcı (Turkey), Ulykbek Esdaulet (Turkic World), Kanybek Imanaliev (Kyrgyzstan), and Kinga Erios (Hungary), alongside representatives from the Writers' Unions of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, poets, writers, and literature enthusiasts.

Young poets from Azerbaijan, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan are participating in the festival.

The program began with congratulatory addresses, a photo exhibition on Zholon Mamytov's life and literary legacy, a poet’s parade, and a cultural concert at Osh State University's main campus. Attendees emphasized that the poet’s milestone anniversary has become a powerful symbol of unity and cultural exchange among Turkic-speaking nations.

Later in the day, a poetry evening titled “I Love Fire” will take place at the Ak-Buura campus, followed by another poetry night, “Green World,” at the Congress Resort OshSU.

On May 29, participants will engage in a discussion on “Challenges of Literary Translation in the Turkic World,” and the festival will conclude with a grand ceremony at the Osh National Drama Theater. On May 30, guests will be treated to an excursion to the Kara-Koy recreation area.

The event is co-organized by TURKSOY, the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan, the National Writers’ Union, the Presidential Representative Office in Osh, the Osh City Hall, the Osh National Drama Theater named after Sultan Ibraimov, the State Television and Radio Company "ElTR," and Osh State University.
