
A film titled “Singing is My Life” was made in honor of Manas Kozhomzharov, an Honored Artist of Kyrgyzstan and an associate professor at the Institute of Pedagogy, Art, and Journalism at Osh State University. The premiere took place on February 13.
The screening was attended by Osh State University’s Vice-Rector for Public Work and Youth Policy, Nurzhamal Mapaeva, along with faculty members, students, close colleagues, and protégés of Kozhomzharov.
Guided by instructors from the Institute’s Film Academy, Kutman Sharshentegin and Kairat Atagulov, about ten creative teams collaborated on the documentary. Filming locations included Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Bishkek.
Blending elements of both documentary and fiction, the film took eight months to complete. It follows the life journey of Manas Kozhomzharov, tracing his path from childhood to the present.
Born in the Kara-Suu district of the Osh region, Kozhomzharov, 62, pursued higher education at the Kyrgyz State University of Culture and Arts named after Bubusara Beishenalieva.
He began his artistic career at the Abdylas Maldybaev Opera and Ballet Theater and has authored several books. Among his many students, he has mentored renowned singers such as Zamir Mirza, Temir Nazarov, and Nurtilek Abdigaparov.
