Collaborative Efforts in Tuberculosis Awareness and Prevention
USAID's “Tuberculosis Treatment” and “Support for Tuberculosis Patients” programs, in collaboration with AFEW Kyrgyzstan and the National Red Crescent Foundation, came together with the Osh Regional Tuberculosis Control Center and Osh State University to organize an event dedicated to combating tuberculosis at the main building of the university.
Medical experts presented information about the disease and discussed preventive measures and symptoms. Simultaneously, discussions were held on reducing and preventing discrimination against tuberculosis patients in society, as well as creating conditions for early diagnosis and treatment.
As part of the event, exhibitions and health corners were set up where interested individuals could have their blood pressure, blood sugar levels, height, and weight measured.
Osh State University has been collaborating with the Osh Regional Tuberculosis Control Center for five years under a bilateral agreement.
