Osh State University's Personalized Scholarship: A Decade of Honoring Excellence

One of the most prestigious scholarships among the universities in Kyrgyzstan is the Osh State University's personalized scholarship awarded to the top 10 students. The recent ceremony, held on November 29th, marked a decade of recognizing outstanding students through this scholarship program.

For a decade now, the university's finest 10 students have been granted an individualized scholarship totaling $1,200 per year ($100 per month). An exclusive committee evaluates students' academic, research, and extracurricular achievements, considering their involvement in academic exchanges, international events, and various competitions.

The selection process involves two stages: first at the department level and then at the university level. Former recipients, now successful professionals across different sectors, were invited to the celebration. At the event, Osh State University's Rector, Kudayberdi Kozhobekov, extended his congratulations to the students and emphasized the scholarship’s significance.

In the ongoing academic year, the scholarship recipients include students from various faculties such as International Educational Programs, Medicine, Kyrgyz-Chinese Studies, MIT, Kyrgyz Philology and Journalism, Pharmacy, History and Social Work, International Relations, Russian Philology, and Arts.

Regarding the distribution of the scholarship, a long-term agreement spanning 50 years has been established involving the bank, the sponsoring professor, and Osh State University. Since its initiation in 2012, a total of 45 students have benefited from this scholarship.
