OshSU Staff Member Honored at Poetry Festival
Melis Mamatjan uulu, a staff member of Osh State University, became a laureate of the Molla Panah Vagif Award at the 2nd Turkic World Poetry Festival held in Azerbaijan. He was also presented with a special medal.
The festival took place on July 16–17 in the city of Shusha. More than 20 young poets from six Turkic-speaking countries participated in the event. They recited their works dedicated to national poetry, literary heritage, and spiritual values.
As part of the festival, poetry readings, literary discussions, creative meetings, and cultural events were organized. Participants exchanged views on the development of contemporary Turkic poetry, literary translation, and international cooperation among young poets. They also visited the historical and cultural sites of Shusha and learned about the spiritual heritage of the Karabakh region.
It is worth noting that the Jolon Mamytov Festival of Young Poets of the Turkic World was previously hosted by Osh State University.
