On November 2, the Higher School of International Educational Programmes at Osh State University hosted a cultural event titled “Two Countries – One Heart”.
The event was attended by 15 volunteers from the Japanese JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) organization. They performed traditional Kyrgyz melodies on the komuz, introducing students to the musical heritage of the Kyrgyz people. They also introduced participants to traditional Japanese martial arts.
During the event, students learned about the cultures, customs and national traditions of both countries.
The cultural evening was organized on the initiative of Japanese language teacher Zarina Asanakhunova and volunteer Riho Tsubaki to strengthen friendship and cultural ties between Kyrgyzstan and Japan.
