OshSU Associate Professor Proposes Social Innovation Lab
On September 25, at a meeting held in the Jogorku Kenesh, Nurzynat Toktorbekova, Associate Professor at the Department of Social Work of Osh State University, proposed establishing a Social Innovation Laboratory in Kyrgyzstan.
She linked the proposal to the need to strengthen the role of social work in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The laboratory would help develop new solutions aimed at supporting women, families and vulnerable groups. It would also focus on analyzing social problems and applying effective approaches in practice.
The meeting addressed women’s leadership, protection of women’s rights, expanding economic opportunities and gender equality. Participants exchanged views and shared experiences on these issues.
The event was organized jointly with the UN Women structure on the protection of the rights of women and children and gender equality under the Jogorku Kenesh.
