On April 17, an interuniversity scientific conference was held at Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University in Osh within the framework of the program “National Spirit – Global Heights.” The theme of the conference was “Genetic Connections of the Kyrgyz with the Ancient Peoples of Eurasia.”
At the event, Zarlyk Soltoev, a lecturer of the Industrial-Pedagogical College at Osh State University, delivered a presentation titled “The Role of the ‘Kyrgyz’ Factor in the Formation of Turkic Peoples in Southern Siberia.” Relying on historical-archaeological and paleogenetic data, he analyzed the place and role of the Kyrgyz people in their ancient ethnogenesis.
The scientific conference was attended by researchers from the southern branch of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan, as well as lecturers and professors from Osh State University, Osh Technological University, and Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University.
