On January 13, a meeting was held at the Institute of Pedagogy, Arts, and Journalism to discuss the transition to a 12-year school education in Kyrgyzstan.

The event was attended by the heads of the institute's pedagogical departments, professors, associate professors, and senior lecturers. The meeting discussed ways to implement the goals of the adopted concept for the transition to a 12-year education in the country.

In particular, attention was paid to revising educational standards, curricula, and programs based on international experience, as well as retraining teaching staff in accordance with the new requirements. This was reported by Zamirbek Bozhanov, Director of the Institute of Pedagogy, Arts, and Journalism.

Furthermore, the work on training faculty in departments involved in teaching and professional development was noted.

At the end of the meeting, views were exchanged on the role of higher education institutions in the transition to a 12-year education system, the future challenges and opportunities for Osh State University in teacher training, and a number of proposals were put forward.
