A delegation of Osh State University led by Rector Kudayberdi Kozhobekov is on a working visit to Tokyo, Japan, within the framework of the Kyrgyz-Japanese SATREPS international project.

The project, implemented jointly with Tokyo Institute of Science, aims to study atmospheric air composition, assess its impact on the environment and human health, and model air pollution using satellite data. The project duration is five years with a budget of $5 million.

During the visit, OshSU representatives learned about Japan’s air monitoring system and visited the Horiba company headquarters, where information about the station to be installed at OshSU was presented. The equipment will be delivered to Kyrgyzstan in June, and the station is expected to start providing air quality data in August.

Japanese specialists will assist with installation and training, and cooperation will continue throughout the project period.
