Area Around OshSU’s New Medical Clinic to Be Improved
Unregulated construction and roadside stalls along Kurmanjan Datka Street in Osh will be removed, and the surrounding area will be cleaned and improved.
Mayor Zhanar Akaev announced this during an inspection of the street on August 19.
The mayor inspected the area together with Osh State University Rector Kudayberdi Kozhobekov. He noted that the university is constructing a large medical clinic aimed at improving public health and emphasized that unregulated commercial outlets and other disorderly structures should not be located around the facility.
“If Osh State University is building such a clinic for the health of the public, it is not appropriate for you to create smoke and unpleasant cooking smells here, pollute the surrounding area, and even keep sheep in some places,” the mayor said.
Zhanar Akaev instructed the relevant municipal services to organize the area, carry out sanitation works and improve its overall appearance.
Construction of the Clinic
The new Osh State University medical clinic will be a seven-story facility with a total area of 20,000 square meters and a capacity of 312 beds. The center will include a laboratory, a day hospital, four operating units, a 300-seat lecture hall and 12 classrooms.
The clinic is planned to provide medical services in liver, kidney and bone marrow transplantation, microsurgery, intensive care, hepatology, ophthalmology, plastic surgery, nephrology, hematology and diagnostics.
