Osh State University and Kashgar University Expand Cooperation
Osh State University and Kashgar University in China have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at expanding academic cooperation.
The memorandum provides for the development of academic mobility for students and faculty members, the organization of language courses, and the launch of joint educational programs.
The document was signed during a visit by an OshSU delegation to Kashgar University in China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region on August 14–17.
The delegation included Ainura Ozonova, Director of the Department of International Relations; Tynystan Pazylov, Dean of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Faculty; and Kyiaz Karimov, lecturer at the Department of Chinese Language and Sinology.
During the visit, the delegation took part in the “Kashgar–2026” Conference on Sister-City Cooperation and Development, held in Kashgar. The participants discussed the results of Kashgar’s cooperation with Central and South Asian countries and explored opportunities to expand cooperation in education, healthcare, humanitarian affairs, trade and the economy.
The delegation also discussed future areas of cooperation between OshSU and Kashgar University.
The main provisions of the memorandum had been preliminarily agreed during an online meeting in April 2026, where the parties discussed academic mobility for students and faculty, the establishment of language courses and the development of joint educational programs.
Following the visit, the parties identified practical steps for implementing the memorandum and reached further agreements on expanding cooperation between the two universities.
