On May 13, Osh State University held an award ceremony honoring teams and coaches who achieved success at the “Universiade–2026” competition.
The national Universiade was held in Bishkek from March 11 to April 27 under the organization of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports and the Youth Directorate. Bachelor’s and master’s students from 30 universities across the country competed in 22 sports disciplines. As a result, OshSU placed seventh overall.

During the ceremony, Rector Kudayberdi Kozhobekov expressed gratitude to the athletes and coaches and presented special awards. In addition, the chairman of the university trade union, Absamat Sattarov, handed over unified sports uniforms to teachers representing the university in competitions for participants under and over the age of 40. The uniforms were prepared on the initiative of the trade union and university teachers.
At the event, the rector emphasized that developing sports, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and supporting athletic achievements are among OshSU’s key priorities. He wished the athletes success in upcoming competitions.
