The event, titled “Central Asia – A New Space for Education, Science and Innovation,” is being held from October 27 to 29 at the Uzbekistan International Forums Palace. It was organized at the initiative of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation. More than 1,500 delegates are participating, including ministers responsible for education from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, rectors of leading regional universities, international experts, and representatives of various organizations.
The forum focuses on strengthening academic ties among Central Asian countries and developing cooperation in education and science. Its programme includes a plenary session, a closed roundtable for ministry leaders, expert sessions, and the “Study in Uzbekistan” exhibition showcasing the opportunities offered by Uzbek universities.
Discussions address academic mobility for students and teaching staff, the launch of joint educational programmes, mutual recognition of diplomas, and the implementation of international research projects. Participants are also considering joint grant programmes, ways to improve educational quality, and measures to strengthen the position of Central Asian universities in international rankings.
The forum aims to expand ties among regional universities, promote joint projects in education and science, and strengthen Central Asia’s position in the global education landscape.
