The Institute of Oriental Studies at Osh State University marked International Mother Language Day with a celebration on February 20. The event brought together instructors and students of the institute.

During the celebration, students showcased various traditions and performed national songs and dances in Korean, Arabic, English, and Turkish. They also recited poetry in different languages. Vice-Rector for State Language and Social Issues, Mastura Sharipova, attended the event and recognized talented students with letters of appreciation and valuable gifts on behalf of the university’s rector.

Since 2000, International Mother Language Day has been observed annually to promote linguistic and cultural diversity, as well as multilingualism.
