OshSU Discusses the Future of English in the Digital Age

Osh State University is hosting the international scientific conference “English in the Digital Age: Linguistic Data, Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Translation.”

Held on September 17–19, the conference brings together representatives of higher education institutions and research and educational organizations from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, as well as international experts, teachers, researchers, translators, and students.

The event is being held in a hybrid format and focuses on such current issues as digital English language teaching, the use of artificial intelligence in education, digital translation, and intercultural communication. Participants are also discussing the use of AI in language teaching and translation, new requirements for translators, and modern technologies in the field.

The conference program includes plenary and sectional sessions, project presentations, and a panel discussion titled “Will Artificial Intelligence Replace Language Teachers and Translators?” Participants will also discuss joint research projects and publications, participation in international projects, the development of academic mobility for teachers and students, and the development of educational materials based on AI technologies.

The conference is organized by the Department of American Studies and Translation of the Faculty of Foreign Languages in connection with International Translation Day.
