“Ala-Too Spring–2026” Festival Starts at Osh State University

Today, April 29, the “Ala-Too Spring–2026” festival officially started at Osh State University. Fourteen teams from higher educational institutions, institutes, and colleges across the country are participating in the competition.

During the opening ceremony, guests were presented with a концерт program prepared by the university. Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Youth Policy Soyuzbek Nadyrbekov delivered a speech and expressed gratitude to the staff of Osh State University for their support in organizing the competition.

Throughout the festival, students will compete in four categories: vocal performance, playing classical musical instruments, folklore performance, and choreography. The participants’ performances are evaluated by a panel of judges. Today marks the first stage of the competition. At the end of this stage, the best participants from each higher education institution will be selected to advance to the second stage. In the final round, they will once again present their performances.

The “Ala-Too Spring” festival has been held since 1966. The competition is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Information and Youth Policy. Its main goal is to identify and support young talents in the field of arts. According to the organizers, this is not just a competition, but a symbol of the future that helps create a new cultural identity of Kyrgyzstan through creative youth.
