Karelia: Teachers Highlighted Kyrgyzstan’s Contribution to the Great Victory

Teachers of the Department of World Literature of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication at Osh State University, Zemfira Miskichekova and Zamira Sabiralieva, took part in the forum “Great Victory. Routes of Memory” held in Karelia.

At the House of Friendship of Peoples in the city of Petrozavodsk, they spoke about Kyrgyzstan’s contribution during the years of the Great Patriotic War. They provided information about the evacuation of children from blockaded Leningrad to Central Asia and about the assistance provided by the Kyrgyz people to the front.

The teachers delivered guest lectures at Pryazha Secondary School, Derzhavin Lyceum, and the Kondopoga Central Library in Petrozavodsk on the topic “Great Victory. Routes of Memory: Russia – Kyrgyzstan – Armenia.” During the visit, they exchanged experience with teachers and students of Petrozavodsk State University. They also participated in the international seminar titled “The Russian Language in the Educational and Cultural-Historical Space of Central Asia and the Caucasus. The Great Victory in the Memory of Generations.”

At the forum, a traveling photo exhibition “Great Victory. Routes of Memory” prepared by Osh State University teachers was presented. The exhibition reflects Kyrgyzstan’s contribution to the common Victory. They also visited military glory sites, the military glory center, and museums in Petrozavodsk.
