Myrza Omorkulov (1928-2018).Kyrgyz culture and education suffered an irreparable loss. On the 90th year of his life, the founder of the Drawing, Drawing and Labor Department of the Faculty of Arts of the Osh State University, Professor, the oldest graphic artist of Kyrgyzstan, a member of the USSR and Kyrgyzstan Artists` Unions, Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic, People`s Artist of Kyrgyzstan Myrza Omorkulov died.

Myrza Omorkulov - played on June 1, 1928 in the village of Bagysh, Suzak district, Jalal-Abad region. After graduating in 1951, the Art School. Penkova PP in Tashkent, he entered the graphics department of the Leningrad Art Institute. Repin, who graduated successfully in 1958 and became the first professional graphic artist in Kyrgyzstan. Over more than 60 years of creative activity Myrza Omorkulov created a number of graphic series and numerous watercolors reflecting various aspects of Kyrgyzstan`s life. Many of the artist`s works (watercolors, linocuts, pencil drawings), as recognized achievements of Kyrgyz art, entered the gold fund and were repeatedly exhibited in prestigious art galleries in Asia, Africa, America and Europe. His best works occupy a worthy place in foreign museums and are successfully sold and stored in various collections. Only in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts more than 100 of his works are kept. M.Omorkulov has advanced his skills and experience to many generations of youth, working fruitfully at the Drawing, Drawing and Work Department of the Faculty of Arts of Osh State University, founded by himself. He organized a unique educational and methodical museum, which has no analogues in the republic, where he collected and exhibited his works created in the period from 1952 to 1986. For many years of creative and pedagogical activity, success in the artistic and aesthetic education of youth Myrza Omorkulov was awarded high awards and titles and deserved the love and respect of artists and the general public. Myrza Omorkulov was a good family man, father and beloved grandfather of grandchildren. The memory of the artist, teacher and mentor will always remain in our hearts. We express our deep condolences to the deceased`s relatives and friends.
