Osh State University

By the decision of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in 1951 when Osh Pedagogical Institute (the present Osh State University) was formed, the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics was also formed as a part of the educational institution. Candidates of physical and mathematical sciences, Associate Professors F.I. Polovikov and Shamgunov made a great contribution to the foundation and strengthening of the faculty and department. The department of experimental and theoretical physics was founded in 1965. From the date of foundation and until 1985 the department was headed by associate professor Zaitov F.N., from 1986 to 1991 assistant professor Egemberdiev J., from 1991 to 1998 professor B.Arapov, from 1998 to 2007 assistant professor A.Usarov.From September 2007 to April 2021 led by Honored Scientist of the KR, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Dr. of Phys&Math, professor B.Arapov. From April 2021 up to the present time, the head of the project is candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, associate professor M.Ch.Oskonbaev.
