On June 26, Osh State University held an official online meeting with representatives of the University of Jeddah, located in the Makkah Region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The University of Jeddah was represented by Nouf Jambi, Head of the Scholarships and Student Exchange Department, and an Adviser to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and University Development. Osh State University was represented by Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Dilmurat Tursunov, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies Joldoshbek Botonoev, Director of the International Relations Office Ainura Ozgonova, and faculty members.
During the meeting, both universities delivered presentations introducing their institutions, educational activities, research achievements, and international cooperation initiatives. The participants exchanged information on their academic opportunities and institutional strengths.
The two sides discussed key areas of future cooperation, including academic mobility, student and faculty exchange, joint research projects, the development of international educational programs, and the implementation of other collaborative initiatives.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two universities. They also expressed mutual interest in organizing official visits to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
The University of Jeddah, established in 2014, is a public higher education institution in Saudi Arabia. The university offers academic programs through more than 16 faculties in disciplines such as Quranic Studies, Engineering, Medicine, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Business, and other fields. It places strong emphasis on scientific research and international collaboration and maintains partnerships with leading universities around the world.
