Universiade: OshSU took second place in sambo
The sambo wrestling competition held as part of the Universiade among students in Bishkek city has concluded.
In the overall team standings, the Kyrgyz State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports took first place. Osh State University secured second place, while Kyrgyz National University earned third place.
In the competition, students of Osh State University showed excellent results and won prize-winning places. They are:
Aktilек Kultayev – Institute of Natural Sciences, Physical Education, Tourism and Agrarian Technologies (1st place, 88 kg weight category);
Syymyk Ergeshbayev – Institute of History and Law (1st place, 77 kg weight category);
Medet Abdyrahmanov – Institute of History and Law (2nd place, over 98 kg weight category);
Kansultan Saparbayev – Institute of Natural Sciences, Physical Education, Tourism and Agrarian Technologies (3rd place, 98 kg weight category);
Niyazbek Abdijalilov – Institute of History and Law (3rd place, 64 kg weight category);
Tabyldy Oonbayev – Confucius Institute (3rd place, 58 kg weight category).
The team coach is Aftandil Kaparov, a lecturer of the Interfaculty Department No.1 of Physical Education of the Institute of Natural Sciences, Physical Education, Tourism and Agrarian Technologies.
The Universiade started on March 11 and will continue until April 27. The event is organized by the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports together with the “Zhashtyk” Directorate.
