On March 12, a roundtable titled “Preparing graduates of pedagogical specialties to work in a 12-year school system” was held.
Teachers of methodological disciplines, pedagogy and psychology, school principals and heads of academic departments from Osh city and districts, as well as representatives of the Osh Regional Institute of Education took part in the discussion.
Participants discussed how to train future teachers in the context of Kyrgyzstan’s transition to a 12-year school education system. Issues such as updating educational programs, implementing new standards, developing teachers’ professional skills, organizing pedagogical practice, and updating curricula and teaching materials were raised. The “3+1.5” education model was also discussed.
At the end of the roundtable, participants presented their proposals and adopted a resolution emphasizing the important role of methodological disciplines in improving the quality of school education and training subject teachers. The event was organized by Professor Aida Keldibekova and Associate Professor Dilaram Madaminova.
