Zura Turdubayeva, a designer and associate professor at Osh State University, conducted a training session for 30 craftswomen from Kadamjay, teaching them how to create innovative designer products using locally sourced natural materials. The participants were women under the age of 45.

Through this training, they learned to blend traditional Kyrgyz craftsmanship with contemporary design, enabling them to produce high-quality, culturally inspired items for tourists.

The initiative is part of a special project in collaboration with Korea. A total of 400 artisans from seven regions and two major cities across the country are expected to take part in an upcoming exhibition. Additionally, special competitions will be held, offering winners the chance to further their education in Korea. The project aims to boost Kyrgyzstan’s handicraft industry and enhance its appeal to tourists.

Previously, similar training sessions were held at Osh State University, with artisans from the city of Osh participating.
