Osh State University Hosts International Conference on Nutrition in Medical Education

The Faculty of International Medicine at Osh State University is hosting an international scientific conference titled “Integration of Nutrition in Medical Education in Central Asia: Challenges and Opportunities.” The two-day event began on November 3 and will conclude tomorrow.

The conference gathers scientists and practitioners from six countries, who are presenting about 20 scientific reports covering topics such as nutrition quality, sports nutrition, hantavirus infection, cognitive disorders, clinical medicine, and public health. The discussions focus on ways to integrate modern research and innovations in nutrition and dietetics into medical education.

Foreign students of the Faculty of International Medicine are also actively participating, presenting their own research findings. The best scientific works will receive awards and recognition.

Among the attendees were Kenesh Zhusupov, coordinator of the Erasmus+ BERNICA project, international scientists from Japan, Turkey, Russia, Austria, and Uzbekistan, as well as Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Ruslan Arapbaev, Dean Roman Kalmatov, faculty members, and students.

The conference is organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ BERNICA project, which aims to promote modern technologies and innovations in education. Within the project, Osh State University has established a “Food Laboratory” on its Ak-Buura campus to advance research and training in the field of nutrition.
