Osh State University has begun demolishing its reinforced concrete warehouse and adjacent auxiliary buildings located next to the Zhekelik Canal. Work is currently underway to clear the area.

The demolition is being carried out because the warehouse and parking area are situated within the city’s designated green zone. This issue was reviewed and approved during the regular meeting of the University Supervisory Board held on October 22. The Board also discussed the sale of old building materials and stored fuel, with the proceeds to be transferred to the university’s account.

In addition, the meeting addressed amendments to the university’s construction plan, which include allocating additional funds for the establishment of an innovative research center for the early diagnosis of cancer. The plan also provides for the renovation, improvement, and landscaping of the facade of the Institute of Natural Sciences, Tourism, and Physical Culture.

The Supervisory Board also made decisions regarding wage rates for all university employees and accommodation fees for student dormitories for the 2025–2026 academic year.

The meeting was chaired by Baltagul Nurunbetov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, and attended by board members and relevant university specialists.
