On March 25, a volleyball tournament dedicated to the memory of Kursanbek Narmatov, Honorary Professor of the Kyrgyz State Academy of Physical Education and Sports, was held at Osh State University. He was a distinguished teacher who made significant contributions to the development of physical education and the education sector in Kyrgyzstan.
The event was attended by Narmatov’s contemporaries, classmates, coursemates, and colleagues who had worked with him for many years. They shared memories about the professor’s life path and his scientific and pedagogical activities. Participants noted that he made a great contribution to educating young people and was a devoted, disciplined, and kind mentor.
On behalf of the Rector of the university, Kudayberdi Kozhobekov, gratitude was expressed to the professor’s family. His wife, Guljamal Narmatova, who worked in the university library for many years, was awarded the “Honored Worker of Osh State University” badge.
Five teams from Osh State University competed in the tournament. As a result, the team of physical education teachers aged over 60 won the competition. The tournament was organized to preserve the bright memory of the professor and to inspire his students and athletes who continue his path.
