On February 27, the Slavic folk holiday Maslenitsa was celebrated at the Department of Russian Philology of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication at Osh State University.
Students dressed in traditional Slavic costumes and performed Russian folk songs and dances. Various contests and traditional games were also organized for participants. The event was initiated by the Department of Methods of Teaching Russian Language and Literature.
Maslenitsa is an ancient East Slavic folk festival symbolizing the farewell to winter and the welcoming of spring. It represents unity, hope, and new beginnings.
