Osh State University Showcases Public Health Achievements at the 7th Asia-Pacific Congress and CARES Health Forum

From November 28 to December 2, the 7th Asia-Pacific Congress and the CARES Health Forum were held in Boao, Hainan Province, China. The event focused on strengthening human resource development in the health sector and ensuring regional health security.

All countries participating in the CARES program attended the forum. Kyrgyzstan was represented by Zinat Beishebaeva, Chief Specialist of the Department of Public Health of the Ministry of Health; Professor Ainash Sharshenova from the International Higher Medical School; and Associate Professor Zhainagul Abdirasulova from the International Medical Faculty of Osh State University and a member of the Center of Excellence working group.

During the forum, the Center of Excellence of Osh State University presented its leading practices and key achievements in public health education. Following the congress, it was announced that a large-scale joint project will soon be launched under the CARES initiative with support from the Asian Development Bank.

Previously, Osh State University was ranked among the top five Centers of Excellence in global public health education.

CARES is a regional initiative aimed at fostering cooperation, economic development, and partnerships in health and education among Central Asian countries and their neighbors.
