On 25 November, a street, monument, and museum dedicated to Abai Kunanbaev were inaugurated in Osh. As part of the celebrations, a presentation of the book “The Story of My Father” by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, also took place.
The book is dedicated to the life of Kemel Tokayev, a renowned writer and the founder of the detective genre in Kazakh literature. The author recounts his father’s difficult childhood, his youth spent on the front lines, and his creative journey after the war.
The events were attended by city officials, representatives of ministries, and members of the diplomatic corps. Osh State University was represented by the Vice-Rector for External Relations, Kursantbek Attokurov, who delivered a congratulatory speech, and the Vice-Rector for Public Relations and Youth Policy, Nurzhamal Mapaeva.
