The Department of ”America and Translation Studies" was established on August 2006, 28 on the basis of the decision of the Academic Council of OSH State University. The department is focused on the theoretical and practical preparation of students for the English language and trains translators-linguists. Head of the department F.I.K., associate professor Aipova G.B. work experience of 19 years, has been leading the department since 01.09.2013. The purpose of the department is to train a linguist who has general and professional competencies, has broad communication in the state, official and English (German and French) languages, translates the meaning of the original text with the help of modern technologies and is competitive in the labor market. Systematic work has been carried out to improve the qualifications of teachers. Most of the 28 teachers of the department improve their knowledge by actively participating in conferences, seminars and trainings organized by various foreign and Kyrgyz organizations. Within the framework of the department, 8 teachers under the Osh program (India), 4 teachers under the Osh program (Turkey) and 3 teachers under the EU+ program (Europe) visited scientific trips. The work programs in the disciplines were approved by the department with the indication of the competencies of the expected results, the compilation of annotations and the discussion of the qualitative construction of programs. Questions, tests, handouts prepared for the modules are compiled by each teacher of the department. Practical classes, the plan of open lessons, the plan of lectures and seminars, texts, summaries are discussed, approved and published by teachers at the department. To organize each current, intermediate and final check, banks and variants of test tasks (OS file) were formed and posted by teachers in group and cathedral journals.
