501. History of the department
On August 29, 2015, the Faculty of International Medicine was opened by the decision of the Academic Council of OshMU. Departments of "Fundamental theoretical disciplines and clinical disciplines" were established in the faculty. Candidate of chemical sciences, associate professor Nishanov Abdumalik Alimovich was appointed as the head of the "Fundamental and theoretical disciplines" department. There are 6 professors, more than 10 candidates of science, more than 40 senior lecturers, 35 lecturers, 10 assistant lecturers, 1 senior laboratory assistant, 1 laboratory assistant, a total of 98 teachers. Chemistry, physics, mathematics and informatics, biochemistry, anatomy, histology, microbiology, biology, normal physiology, operative surgery and other medical disciplines are taught at the department. New teaching technology is widely used in the department, such as cyclical learning, computer-based teaching, and testing. The department has great opportunities for conducting scientific and creative work. At that time, new laboratories were created for students to carry out scientific research. Industrial practices were held on the basis of hospitals in the city of Osh. Possibilities for international relations and exchange of experience with foreign higher educational institutions have been created. A year later, the department was divided into two: "Natural and humanitarian disciplines" and "Morphological disciplines". In July 2017, by the decision of the Academic Council of OshMU, the Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics was established due to the division of the Department of Natural and Humanities of the Faculty of International Medicine into two departments. (July 6, 2017, minutes #8). In August 2017, candidate of chemical sciences, associate professor Nishanov A.A. was appointed acting head of the department. appointed. Since June 2018, Kurbanaliyev Abdikerim Yrysbaevich, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor, was elected as the head of the department on the basis of competitive elections. Currently, 14 employees work in the teaching staff of the Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics; 1 professor, 4 candidates of science, 6 teachers, 2 senior laboratory assistants and 1 laboratory assistant. Laboratories for biochemistry, chemistry, biology and physics disciplines have been established in the department in order to conduct the educational process in a comprehensive manner. Scientific circles are organized on the subjects to be taught.4. Current main areas of activity
Department of natural sciences and mathematics basic ie. provides quality assurance by providing modern education to students in mathematics and natural, professional cycle disciplines. In the 2017-2018 academic year, the department provides training in the disciplines of general and clinical biochemistry, general chemistry, physics, biology, teaching of instruments used in medicine. And since the 2018-2019 academic year, due to the fact that the faculty′s study period has been extended to 5 years, some disciplines are selected by the choice of students, and the discipline of studying medical devices is being taught according to the requirements.5. Goals of the department:
- Conducting competent lectures, practice, laboratory and seminar lessons based on innovative methods; -Active participation in social and educational activities at the faculty and university level together with students; - Provision of technical teaching aids, e-books in order to improve the quality of the educational process; - Spreading scientific pedagogical skills of experienced teachers among young teachers; - To solve actual scientific and technical problems by creating modern scientific research laboratories.
